Beecroft General Practice is a primary health care organisation, located in Beecroft which delivers a broad range of primary health and welfare programs and clinical services.  We cater to the local population of Beecroft council and all the adjoining twenty suburbs. We are seeking a dynamic, client-focused, full time Health Services Manager who can not only provide overall management for our health organisation but can also maximise its growth and revenue.

About the role:

  • coordinating and administering health and welfare programs and clinical services at the centre

  • controlling administrative operations such as budget planning, report preparation, preparing relevant and timely financial and non-financial performance reports

  • ensuring that patients receive the right care in the right place at the right time by planning, coordinating and building well defined referral system with general practices, pharmacies, specialists, other health professionals, local hospitals, laboratories and diagnostic centers and other service provider network

  • working closely, communicating and coordinating with a broad range of external stakeholders, who represent the health and welfare providers, medical sector, government departments and private industries, for the delivery of various health programs and services

  • planning, coordinating and delivering after hours’ services and home visits arrangements, in home and community care specialist services through relevant health bodies

  • facilitating, coordinating and educating people to avail various home and community care (hacc) and health related programs run and funded by state and federal government

  • liaising with private health bodies which run various health related programs and making people aware of these programs and encouraging them to actively participate in them

  • participating in various health related conferences and seminars and annual and general meetings to attain professional development in health leadership and management and henceforth using these skills to transform the quality and value of services at the centre and hence, health outcomes of the community.

  • planning, organising, coordinating and updating the centre with the latest essential government requirements, schemes, initiatives and incentive programs

  • responsible for recruitment, induction, training and management of the staff in line with identified needs

  • maintaining knowledge of and compliance with relevant government legislation, regulations and contractual obligations of the Centre

  • developing, implementing and monitoring procedures, policies and standards for medical, nursing, allied health and administrative staff

  • other duties as may be best fit within the scope of this role and for the best of the organization

Essential criteria:

  • recognised post graduate qualification in Health administration

  • demonstrated previous experience in successfully leading a primary health care team and high level health services management and coordination

  • extensive experience in planning, organising, coordinating health welfare programs and clinical services

  • ability to coordinate and create high level communication channels with a range of service consumers, health service providers, general practice, community agencies, and other relevant stakeholders

  • experience and knowledge to train, recruit and manage staff

  • experience in financial management, accounting systems and reporting processes

  • demonstrated contribution to marketing, growth and/or promotion of a business/service offering

  • demonstrated knowledge of accreditation processes for a primary health organisation and of compliance with all legal, financial, and employment obligations consistent with policy and statutory requirements.
