Background
The Health Professional Councils Authority (HPCA) supports health professional councils in NSW.  Together we protect the public by regulating health practitioners in NSW.  The Councils work with the NSW Health Care Complaints Commission (HCCC) in a partnership called co-regulation to manage complaints about health practitioners in NSW.
 
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Nurse Educator to join our team.
 
Role Purpose
As the Nurse Educator you will be doing a wide variety of work including:
 
  • Developing resources and providing specialist advice to support the management of nurses and midwives
  • Supporting and leading the implementation of strategies and projects to contribute the ongoing development of our nursing and midwifery performance assessment program
  • Providing guidance and contributing to the professional development of performance assessors in both simulated and clinical contexts
  • Advising the Nursing and Midwifery Council, committee members and colleagues about relevant education and learning activities to improve performance for individual cases.
 
Essential requirements
  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse or Midwife with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia.
  • Recent experience in the development of nursing / midwifery practice.
  • Post registration clinical or education qualification relevant to the position.
  • Demonstrated effective leadership skills including highly developed communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, coordinate, deliver and evaluate education and training programs, and assess professional performance in the clinical and simulation setting.
  • Demonstrated understanding of contemporary adult learning principles.
  • Computer literacy and understanding of information systems.
