The Northern Hospital Cardiology Department is a busy and rapidly expanding department that offers inpatient and outpatient cardiac services to patients in Melbourne's Northern suburbs and regional Victoria.
The department offers a wide range of invasive and non-invasive diagnostic and therapeutic services, including 24 hour emergency on call services. The department is staffed by 11 cardiologists (one full time director, and 10 visiting medical officers- including 4 Echocardiologist.
We are seeking a 1.0 EFT clinical and research fellow/ accredited cardiology registrar for a 1 year appointment.
The successful candidate would receive extensive training in cardiac imaging, spanning the modalities of echocardiography (transthoracic, TOE, stress echo), Cardiac CT and Cardiac MRI. On completion of training, the candidate will have satisfied the accreditation requirements as specified by CSANZ and COCATS guidelines.
The research role would include clinical research, involvement in international multicentre cardiovascular research trials, including follow up of patients in a dedicated research outpatient clinic. It is expected the successful applicant would also undertake individual research projects with supervision.
