Wagga Wagga Base Hospital (WWBH) is one of the busiest rural hospitals in NSW with 300 beds over 40,000 emergency presentations, 1,100 births and approximately 11,000 operations each year.  With the new hospital being built in 2016. WWBH provides medical, surgical, paediatric, obstetric, rehabilitation, and mental health acute and sub-acute inpatient services.  Specialties include cardiovascular, gastroenterology, renal medicine, obstetrics, orthopaedics, psychiatry and paediatrics. There is also the provision of a full range of allied health and support services.

What you will be doing
 
The position of Occupational Therapist Level 1/2 is based in the hospital acute wards and works in a multidisciplinary context. The Occupational Therapist will be responsible for delivering timely, efficient and evidence based occupational therapy interventions to patients at Wagga Wagga Base Hospital. This position is involved with a range of clinical and administrative functions necessary for the delivery of Occupational Therapy services to patients. Occupational Therapy services are provided with a focus on occupational and client-focused outcomes. The clinical caseload includes inpatients both in acute wards (e.g. medical ward, general surgical ward, orthopaedic ward, ED, ICU, paediatric ward etc.), subacute wards (e.g. rehabilitation ward) and outpatients (hand therapy and general outpatients). The Level 1/2 positions will rotate through the different wards and is supported by a team of occupational therapists at Wagga Wagga Base Hospital.
 
Selection Criteria
 

• A Degree in Occupational Therapy and current registration with AHPRA
• Demonstrated effective written, verbal and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team
