Challenge Community Services engage their people to create an inspired culture.  The Therapeutic Services Team works closely with individuals, couples and families some of which are in Out of Home Care and Disability Services.

Recent business growth has prompted exciting new opportunities across NSW in a number of locations including Sydney, Newcastle, Maitland, Tamworth, Armidale.

Who we are looking for:

We are seeking passionate, flexible and professional clinicians who enjoy making a difference and have recognised qualifications and experience as either Psychologists or Social Workers. The role can either be Part Time or Full time.

Psychologists – must have a relevant degree, have full and unrestricted registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Registration Agency (AHPRA), and have experience as a Registered Psychologist.

Social Workers – must have a relevant degree, be eligible for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW), have appropriate post-graduate clinical experience, and have accreditation as a Mental Health Social Worker.

Essential Criteria:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Psychology or Social Work and current registration with AHPRA or AASW
  • Demonstrated experience and well developed skills in working effectively with people across all age groups with a range of psychological and behavioural needs.
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting psychological assessments utilizing a broad range of frameworks
  • Experience in working with children and young people
  • Ability to work as a team and build relationships with a range of people.
  • Ability to collaborate and liaise with key stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes for the clients, families and/or carers
  • Ability to be able to travel throughout the organisation’s locations.
  • Proven ability to work within computer software programs i.e. Microsoft Office.
  • Well-developed analytical, organisational and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to collaborate across all services to ensure best practice and the maximisation of opportunities to achieve positive outcomes for the clients, families and/or carers.
  • Highly developed and effective written and oral communication, with a proven ability to clearly and logically express ideas.
  • Current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain.
  • Current NSW Drivers licence.

  Desirable:

  • Demonstrated knowledge in relevant community services/disability and OOHC legislation and standards
  • Demonstrated knowledge of mental health issues
  • Possessing excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience in Family Systems Therapy

Expressions of Interests welcome for Provisional Psychologist who have completed minimum 12 months provisional experience.

Challenge Community Services has competitive pay rates, being a not-for-profit organisation, we are able to offer our staff salary packaging which will increase your take home pay and we offer Negotiated Extra Leave. 

Salary range starting from $81,095.

It will be a requirement of this position for the successful applicant to hold a NSW Working with Children Check prior to commencement.
