Barefoot Therapists is a private paediatric service looking for an Occupational Therapist to join the team in Mornington Peninsula.
We are looking for a full time or part time OT to join our team. We are a highly skilled practice providing services for families with babies, pre-school and school aged children who require assessment and intervention. We are based at a friendly and established clinic in Rosebud, offering services to a range of private clients and those with DSS funding, Medicare, NDIS and charity funding. We have 6 OT positions, a speech pathologist, a psychologist and visiting paediatric physiotherapist. We also have rooms both with a paeditracian and a children's physio in Frankston and we have secured ongoing arrangements with schools which we visit each week. We offer community services across Mornington Peninsula in family homes, schools and pre-school settings. We run a rural program including equine facilitated learning, horse therapy and outdoor OT sessions at the farm nearby run by our senior clinician.
The successful applicant will be an OT, ideally with post graduate experience in paediatrics or previous engagement with children's services. You must have sound clinical skills, experience of using play and activity with children and you should demonstrate a natural, therapeutic and professional style. Organisation and communication skills are essential. Evidence based practice and practical clinical reasoning will be needed for this child/family centred practice.
We are a friendly, supportive team which values supervision, PD and flexible working hours. Term-time school hours or part time are available. We will guide and support you but you will need to work independently following a period of in-house training.

Personal Specification
Required Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications
- Degree in Occupational Therapy and current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Current Driver's License and own car
- Current Working With Children Check
Essential Criteria
- Experience in the provision of occupational therapy services to children with autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, mental health issues including anxiety, delayed development, disability and/or neurological conditions
- Experience running a range of individual and group programs
- Demonstrated skills undertaking assessment and intervention
- Experience providing Occupational Therapy Services in a child's natural environment (home, school or community)
- Demonstrated commitment to Continuing Professional Development, Evidenced Based Practice, and Measuring Clinical Outcomes
- Demonstrated experience prioritising workloads and managing clients and families with complex needs
- Eligibility for Medicare interventions such as CDM/EPC
Desirable Qualifications
- Familiarity of coaching models used with parents
- Experience of pre-term infants and toddlers
- Eligibility for Medicare interventions including Better Access to Mental Health
- Knowledge and understanding of the NDIS roll-out for Early Intervention services
