Churches of Christ in Queensland, Residential Aged Care Service, Warwick Campus

Permanent, full-time opportunity

Imagine helping someone stay independent

About the role

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference. We are expanding to establish Warwick as a major centre for seniors care in the Southern Downs region and you will be a big part of that. Due to open in August, this brand new 128-bed residential aged care service will complement our existing retirement village, campus community centre and seniors' living units.

You will be involved in the implementation and continuous promotion of wellness and restorative care programs, exercise based interventions and falls prevention. Aligned with the organizational 'positive wellbeing' model of care you will improve and maintain the mobility and independence of our residents. Some of the residents you will look after for years to come and the relationships you build with them and their families will be both meaningful and significant. You will also devise and deliver education programs based on the needs of the aged care sites and advise and educate staff on manual handling techniques appropriate to individual residents. Working with a dedicated team you will be practicing a holistic model of care.

This position is located in Warwick in the beautiful Southern Downs region and you will be required to travel to our site in Stanthorpe up to two 4 days per fortnight. The region offers a laid back country lifestyle with distinct natural landscapes, fresh local produce and various events and festivals celebrated across four seasons. If you are looking for an escape from the hustle and bustle of the city as well as a rewarding role, this might be the right opportunity for you.

About you

You are a dedicated Physiotherapist often commended on your enthusiasm, imagination, creativity and the ability to form relationships with a wide variety of people. With the ability to prioritise and manage workloads according to resident's needs, you are able to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplined work team.

Your experience and qualifications for the role should include:

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Physiotherapist and current police clearance or the ability to obtain;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Demonstrated time management skills and the ability to work within a multi-skilled team;
  • Current Senior First Aid certificate is highly desirable.

Aged care experience is not required as you will be supported by an experienced team and very supportive management.

Importantly, you will be someone who closely aligns with our organizational values of: modelling unconditional love; behaving with integrity; and being good stewards.
