About Us
WA Primary Health Alliance (WAPHA) is the peak planning and commissioning body for primary health care services in Western Australia (WA).
We oversee the strategic commissioning functions WA's three Primary Health Networks: Perth North, Perth South and Country WA.
WAPHA's primary objective is to improve health outcomes and patient experiences through the commissioning of appropriate services where they are most needed.
The role
We are seeking a candidate with a passion for improving primary health to join our busy and dynamic team in the role of My Health Record Trainer/Community Engagement Officer.
The Australian Government has committed to creating an electronic My Health Record for every Australian by the end of 2018, unless they choose not to have one. This is an important initiative and will require communications efforts at a local, regional and national level to ensure all consumers are informed about the expansion. WAPHA has been identified as a key delivery partner for activities across Western Australia.
As the My Health Record Trainer, you will be responsible for the delivery of training and engagement activities for the My Health Record expansion in relation to General Practices, community pharmacies, allied health and specialists. You will be required to organise and facilitate events, small group training and 1-1 training and will require excellent training, communication and organisation skills.
Your responsibilities will also include delivery and implementation of community engagement activities for the My Health Record expansion. You will be involved with organising and delivering community events as well as healthcare provider events.
About you
The successful candidate will meet the following selection criteria:
- Experience in similar roles, including specifically demonstrated skills in training and stakeholder engagement;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including experience delivering large and small-group presentations and responding to queries;
- Experience in organisation and delivery of events and implementation of engagement strategies.
- Ability to work within and across teams and adapt quickly to a changing environment;
- Experience planning and managing events at a local level;
- Ability to identify and effectively manage issues.
- Relevant healthcare sector experience and understanding of state and/or Commonwealth government (Desirable);
- Diploma, graduate or postgraduate qualifications in training, education or other relevant discipline (Desirable).
This role is on a contract to 30th June 2019.
