Job - Registrar, ED Provisional /Advanced Trainee
Salary - NSW Award + package
Location - Far north Coast, NSW
Contract - ASAP to 2019

The successful applicants will gain valuable experience in hospitals within this network, working under the guidance of highly experienced senior clinicians as part of the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine's training program.

About the role:
We are currently arranging interviews for ED registrar opportunities at this local health district across various hospitals.

An acute referral hospital of 260 beds, serving a population of approximately 170,000 people on the Far North Coast of NSW. Currently undergoing redevelopment, with new Emergency Department opened in September -2016

Alongside this sits level 3 rural hospital providing care to over 8,300 inpatients every year. Services provided include Emergency, General Medicine, Aged Care & Rehabilitation and Surgery. The hospital undertakes over 860 surgical procedures and sees over 17,800 Emergency attendances annually.
And a is a local community, level 3 Acute Care Rural hospital providing care to over 2,800 inpatients every year. The hospital undertakes over 940 surgical procedures and sees over 14,500 Emergency attendances annually.

The City is situated between World Heritage listed rain forest and the pristine beaches of Evans Head, Ballina, Lennox Head and Byron Bay. This area is blessed by year round sun, a tropical climate and a short winter. From lush hinterland villages, national parks, to sparkling beaches, the region is full of natural wonders and vibrant destinations all within a short drive

Facility Overviews

Recognized Trauma Centre for the North Coast Region and is linked to a local helicopter retrieval service. The hospital has a busy 17 bed Emergency Department, 9 bed ICU and a 4 bed Coronary Care Unit. A wide range of medical and surgical specialities and sub-specialities are provided, as well as the majority of speciality services. The Hospital plays an important role in providing high level specialist services on a regional level including:

- Access to formalised Retrieval Service providing service over a 300km radius.
- Specialist emergency and elective surgical services including Vascular and Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery.
- Renal Dialysis and Renal Dialysis home-based training.
- Diagnostic and interventionist cardiology.
- Adult Mental Health Unit, Child & Adolescent Mental Health Unit.

What you need:

Existing AHPRA registration or eligible for provisional registration through the competent authority pathway. PGY3+
