The Child and Adolescent Unit are seeking motivated people to works as AINs on the Child and Adolescent Unit.

Where you'll be working
The key responsibilities for this position will be to care for Children and Young people with mental health conditions who require special supervision. Communication skills and motivation to engage with young people is essential for this role. Training will be provided to the successful applicant. In the unusual event there are no children or young people on the ward who require this level of care you will be seconded to an adult ward to assist. This will enable you to gain a wide experience of nursing specialties at Royal North Shore Hospital.

What you'll be doing

Provision of support to the nursing team in order to deliver a high standard of care to NSLHD patients.

Employees must abide by the NSW Health Code of Conduct. Criminal record checks will be undertaken on successful applicants and applicants for positions designated as Category A will be required to obtain required vaccinations prior to commencing employment. 

 

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:


  • Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them.
  • Currently studying Bachelor of Nursing or degree deemed appropriate OR completion of HLT32507 Certificate III in Health Services Assistance.
  • Demonstrated, effective written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team.
  • Demonstrated computer skills with experience using MS Office programs and electronic filing systems.
