An exciting opportunity exists for a dynamic Registered Nurse with an interest in injury prevention in youth or the younger population. Be part of a large multidisciplinary team in coordinating the service which includes Trauma, Intensive Care and Allied Health. 


Where you'll be working
Royal North Shore Hospital is a tertiary referral facility, level 1 Trauma Service. The P.A.R.T.Y Co-ordinator works closely within the Trauma Service for prevention of alcohol and risk related related trauma in youth.

What you'll be doing

The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) is an expert nursing who will provide leadership, advice and recommendations on all aspects of nursing and consults on matters relating to the safe and appropriate use of nursing practices.

The CNC will formulate and implement policy, guide practice development, and engage in education and research activities. The CNC is responsible for the provision of clinical supervision to nursing staff and acts as a role model, providing nursing care on a regular basis.

Employees must abide by the NSW Health Code of Conduct. Criminal record checks will be undertaken on successful applicants and applicants for positions designated as Category A will be required to obtain required vaccinations prior to commencing employment. 

 

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them.
  • A Registered Nurse who has a minimum of 5 years full time post graduate experience. In addition the applicant must have an approved post graduate qualification and substantial relevant experience to the speciality.
  • Demonstrated experience with research activities, developing and implementing education programmes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and people from Government and Non-government agencies.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively both as a member of a multidisciplinary team and independently.
  • Demonstrated computer skills with experience using MS Office programs and electronic filing systems.
  • Recent experience in an acute care facility
