Lysterfield, A young family with 3 year old son with mild Autism and delayed speech development is seeking a volunteer/s to assist with speech and social development.

About Us
We are a young family of 4 that live in Lysterfield. Our first child Florence is a very talkative 3 year old and our second child Charles is a mischievous 2 year old. Charles has been diagnosed with mild Autism and delayed speech development.

The Role
We are looking for volunteers that are interested in working with us to help Charles develop his speech and social abilities. Charles has been enrolled in a number of online programs including Son-Rise and Gemiini.

This is a home based online training program with training videos and worksheets to work assist with developing his abilities.

Responsibilities:

• Watch tutorial videos and read training literature
• Set up play space for activities
• One on one engagement with Charles
• Review progress from the session

A typical session with Charles involves activities such as jigsaws, books, physical ball games, drawing, and other activities. Charles is a very happy young boy that loves to play.

Social interaction through activities he enjoys helps develop his speech and social abilities.

Days:
We are looking for volunteers;Monday to Friday between 8.00am and 12noon and 1.00pm to 5.00pm. Part time commitments are welcome.

This is an unpaid volunteer role, however financial assistance would be provided to cover any transport cost incurred."
