Associate Nurse Unit Manager - Operating Theate

Ongoing full time position

The Operating Suite provides surgical services 24 hours per day, seven days a week and consists of five operating theatres including one dedicated emergency theatre, two procedure rooms, and a ten bay PACU.  Surgical specialties include obstetrics, gynaecology, urogynaecology, breast, and oncology.

Your contribution  

The Associate Nurse Unit Manager is responsible for undertaking nursing activities within Theatre in a safe, competent and professional manner. 

Your duties will include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Provide patient centred, high quality nursing care
  • To lead by example and be professionally accountable for the standard of nursing care provided. 
  • Promoting a friendly, respectful and supportive environment
  • Providing constructive learning experiences, acting as a mentor and providing appropriate direction and supervision of staff and students. 
  • Participating in quality assurance and clinical research studies

About you

To be successful within this role you will need to have:

  • Registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse Division 1
  • Post Graduate Qualifications (or like experience) in Perioperative Nursing
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate within a multi – disciplinary team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with health professional at both clinical and executive level
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and deliver on education and development needs of staff
  • Demonstrated ability to be innovative, resourceful and adaptive to change
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement
  • High level of reliability and professional conduct
