About the role
This role conducts triage, mental health assessment, short term treatment and recovery support to consumers accessing health services for acute mental health issues at an entry point to the mental health service. The team also provide short term assertive risk management and treatment for consumers with acute mental health concerns within the Ipswich community. This role is multidisciplinary and we are happy to consider applications from Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Social Workers or Nurses.
Within this team you may be required to work between four core functions:
- 1300 MH CALL service which provides 7 day a week extended hours telephone triage service for accessing Adult Mental Health Services
- Acute Care Emergency Department providing a triage-intake and assessment of patients identified as requiring a mental health consultation within the Emergency Department of Ipswich Hospital
- Community Assessment and Treatment providing community mental health assessments, brief interventions and short term treatment options for up to 6 weeks primarily in consumers own residence/environment
- Consultation Liaison Psychiatry providing mental health liaison and assessment and consultation for people admitted to Ipswich Hospital.
This position participates in a rotational roster which includes 24 hour shift work.
