Employment Type: Max Term Part Time - 11 months duration

Hours per week: 28 hours

Salary: $61,173- $88,627( Dependent on experience)

Position Summary:

A vacancy exists in the above unit for a highly motivated Social Worker with appropriate knowledge and skills to join our friendly and supportive team. Our progressive and innovative team offers development opportunities for our staff and a caring environment for the delivery of high quality patient centred care. The successful applicant(s) will be expected to be very flexible and have extensive psychosocial and counselling skills

This position covers Palliative care And Rehabilitation but the social worker will be expected to work in other units as required. The caseload can be quite complex at times dealing with diverse psychosocial problems.

Selection Criteria

  • Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent’s Health Australia
  • Extensive postgraduate experience working in Palliative Care/ Aged Care or Medical Rehabilitation services Comprehensive psychosocial assessment and counselling skills
  • Highly developed oral and written communication skills including computer literacy.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage a complex caseload in an effective manner with appropriate time management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with members of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Eligibility for membership of the AASW Current NSW Driver’s licence.
