The primary purpose of this position is to act as a focal point for Work Health & Safety (WHS) and wellbeing matters to assist the Facilities and Services in meeting compliance with statutory requirements and strategic directions including:  
• Working closely with frontline management and Executive in the implementation of the SESLHD WHS (including manual handling) management system  
• Supporting and presenting appropriate training courses and encouraging staff to participate in relevant training course  
• Supporting and facilitating WHS consultation processes within SELSHD including providing direct support and advice to Health & Safety Committees and Health and Safety representatives (HSRs)    


  1. Relevant qualifications in WHS (minimum Certificate IV in WHS) and a range of experience, skills and knowledge in operational WHS; and/or a range of experience, skills and knowledge in hazardous manual task or patient handling program development and implementation
  2. Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and/or experience in developing and implementing instructional/educational programs for an adult learning environment
  3. Detailed knowledge, experience and understanding of the NSW WHS Legislation;
  4. Demonstrated high level analytical and problem solving skills including the ability to provide authoritative advice and recommendations across a large and complex organisation.
  5. Demonstrated high level negotiation and facilitation skills and commitment to customer service
  6. Demonstrated effective time management and ability to work in a complex environment with competing priorities and conflicting deadlines
  7. Highly developed communication, interpersonal and influencing skills and the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with senior management, peers and other key stakeholders
  8. Current drivers licence (with a willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the position)
