A Grade 3 Clinical Psychologist is sought for a permanent 2 day per week (ideally Wednesday and Friday) position at The Melbourne Clinic, Richmond, Victoria. The successful applicant will work closely with the Living Well Program Manager and the Chief Psychologist to provide leadership to the Living Well Program team that provide personality assessments, group and individual psychological interventions to inpatients of the General Psychiatry Programs (including patients in the Professorial Mood Disorders Unit), Older Persons', Emotional Management Program and Young Persons’ Psychiatry programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- To provide leadership to the Clinical Psychology team across the hospital and more specifically, within the Living Well Program, including referral triaging and clinical supervision to both staff and students as relevant
- To provide individual psychological interventions to inpatients, including psychological assessment and evidence based therapies. Must be familiar with MMPI or PAI administration to facilitate psychological groups within the Living Well Program including psychoeducation and therapeutic groups based on therapies such as ACT, DBT, CBT, and Mindfulness
- To participate in the development and review of programs as necessary along with relevant quality projects
- Participate in the development and evaluation of policies and programs as appropriate
The Melbourne Clinic offers a variety of inpatient and outpatient programs that are tailored to meet the needs of people with a range of mental health conditions. The Living Well Program is an inpatient service that covers general inpatients, the Professorial Mood Disorders Unit (associated with The University of Melbourne), Older Persons’ Psychiatry, Young Persons’ Psychiatry and the Intensive Psychiatric Care Unit. A Community Outreach Program and a wide range of Day Programs are also available to support people in the community.
Selection Criteria:
- Appropriate qualifications in Clinical Psychology (i.e. Masters or DPsych)
- Registration with AHPRA
- Endorsement in Clinical Psychology
- Registered supervisor
- Exceptional time management and communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously
