A position exists for a Senior Billings/Administration Supervisor in the Medical Imaging Department. Previous experience with MBS, AMA and Medicare billing essential.  Previous supervision of administration staff also essential.

What you'll be doing

  • Be responsible for the Departmental billing/revenue ensuring optimal billing in a timely and effective manner, working closely with Finance/Revenue team to resolve any issues.  Therefore excellent knowledge of MBS, AMA and overseas billing is essential.
  • Supervise, guide and support the administration team in their duties.
  • To manage the administration functions of the Medical Imaging Department, ensuring high levels of customer service, professional, timely, accurate and high quality administration whilst facilitating the smooth running of the Department. 
  • Provide administrative support to the Medical Imaging Department using advanced Microsoft Office Word and Excel. Including preparation of letters, reports, briefing notes, agendas and distribution; take/transcribing minutes; dictaphone typing; review, format, type, copy and distribute documents for the Staff Specialists and other staff as required. Following up action items from meetings.

  1. Previous experience with MBS and Medicare billing essential. Experience in Healthroster, Oracle, ROB recruiting, Stafflink desirable.
  2. Demonstrated success in delivering high level support service to senior managers.
  3. Previous experience supervising administration staff with team management skills.
  4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills (including near perfect grammar and spelling). Medical terminology essential.
  5. Demonstrated ability to prioritise and organise a busy workload and to remain calm and productive under pressure.
  6. High level interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and interact with a wide range of stakeholders (including difficult or upset people).
  7. Administrative experience within NSW Health including creating documents and spreadsheets, writing professional letters, ordering/billing/invoicing, organising meetings and other office management functions.
  8. Demonstrated ability to be proactive and take initiative (please give an example).
