An opportunity for a wellbeing and communication officer has arisen with the National Redress Scheme for Survivors of Institutional Child Sexual Abuse. This role requires staff to be survivor focused, have an understanding about the nature and impact of child sexual abuse, the cultural needs of survivors, and the needs of particularly vulnerable survivors.
The role
Wellbeing and Communication Officer
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Provide regular debriefing, wellbeing checks and coaching of staff, and report results to the delegated member of the leadership group
- Provide clinical oversight to the Redress Recommendation Team
- Communicate sensitively and effectively with survivors, and their representatives, in telephone and written communications
- Identify survivors with additional needs and oversee case management support as appropriate
- Undertake the assessment of staff in the Redress Recommendation Team to monitor psychological and mental health
- Identify and tailor services for staff facing challenges and help them to access support services
- Investigate, analyse and assess complex and sensitive information, to make recommendations, ensuring it complies with policy and relevant service provision guidelines
You
It is essential you have:
- A minimum of 3 years of professional experience as an allied health professional in a relevant discipline such as social work or counselling
- Experience in working with victims of child sexual abuse (Preferred)
- Experience in applying emotional intelligence, and trauma informed care and practice
- Experience working with culturally diverse, vulnerable or complex populations
- Experience in assessing medical, mental health, or other expert documentation
- Registration with relevant professional association
- High level of computer literacy
