About the Role

Be inspired every day as part of a team working with children, adults and adolescents with Autism to develop and implement therapy goals to maximise participation of the individual across home, work and community environments.  This specialist team uses a Positive Behaviour Support approach to increase the quality of life of individuals with Autism, in addition to supporting individuals and their families to reduce behaviours of concern.  This position is perfect for an Occupational Therapist who is committed to helping individuals and families to make positive changes in challenging circumstances using contemporary, positive and best practice therapeutic approaches within a supportive trans-disciplinary team.

About you

The successful applicant will have strong clinical experience in working in the field of disability. They will be committed to contemporary, positive and best practice approaches to supporting people with Autism. Ongoing training will be provided to develop and/or extend the successful applicant’s clinical and Autism specific skills.

Essential Criteria:

  • Full registration with AHPRA
  • Demonstrated experience in working in the field of disability
  • A sound  understanding  of Positive Behaviour Support
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Legal entitlement to work in Australia and willing to obtain a Police Clearance. 
  • A genuine desire to make a difference to the lives of people with Autism
  • Sound problem-solving and organisational skills.
  • Experience in working with people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (highly desirable)
  • Current Senior First Aid certificate required
