  • headspace Digital Work and Study Service
  • Join an innovative and well recognised national not for profit
  • Full time or part time opportunity based in Melbourne CBD

Established in 2006, headspace is a well-recognised national not-for-profit organisation making a difference to the lives of young people aged 12-25 years. headspace enables young people and their families to access information and support through a national network of centres and services, and drives community awareness and education about youth mental health, early intervention and help seeking.

The Digital Work and Study Service is an international first. This program aims to test the effectiveness of the digital on-line delivery of an integrated Work and Study service with clinical support. The service is voluntary and delivers intensive vocational assistance to young people based on the Individual Placement and Support international model.  The service targets 15-24 year olds that are either from a regional area, early school leavers and/or Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders.

As the Clinical Advisor, you will be an integral member of the Digital Work and Study leadership team, and work collaboratively with the Work and Study Specialists to enhance social, health and mental health outcomes for young people. You will be responsible for providing direct online and telephone clinical support to young people who access the service and will support the team by providing consultation, debrief, psychoeducation and training and development in managing and working with young people with mental health difficulties. Undertaking a clinical advisory role, you will provide guidance, clinical content and oversight to the clinical governance and risk of the program.

The successful applicant will have completed their tertiary qualifications in an Allied Health discipline – either Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Mental Health Nursing or Psychology (OTs, Mental Health Nurses and Psychologists need to be fully registered with AHPRA).  Critical for success will be your demonstrated clinical skills in the assessment and treatment of mental health and related issues with young people using a range of interventions. headspace is seeking a person who has demonstrated experience in providing clinical guidance and advisory for an integrated mental health service for young people. Naturally, you will possess exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, along with strong information technology and information management skills and a high level of self-motivation and initiative.

In return we offer a flexible and dynamic environment where you have the opportunity to truly make a difference to young Australians. Remuneration is dependent on skills and experience, and includes generous salary packaging opportunities. This role is offered as a full time position, however candidates with part time availability are encouraged to apply. Job share arrangements would also be considered.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are strongly encouraged to apply.
