Who we are:

headspace Inala is an established youth health service, focused on delivering improvements in the lives of young people aged 12 to 25 years.  Our multi-disciplinary team of health professionals provides early-intervention supports to young people in the areas of primary health, mental health, drug and alcohol services, and vocation and education services.

Accoras, the lead agency for headspace Inala, operates a number of programs throughout South-East Queensland in the areas of Child, Youth and Family Services, Employment Support Services, Psychology Services, and Community Education Services and is seeking an experienced Customer Service and Reception Officer to join our headspace Inala team.

About the role:

Reporting to the Practice Manager, this role is to provide excellent customer service in person, over the phone and via email, complete a variety of administrative tasks and contribute to the presentation and ongoing success of the centre.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing professional and friendly customer service to young people, their families and carers, and visitors to the centre;
  • Promoting the centre and services in response to enquiries received in person, over the phone, via email and at events;
  • A variety of patient-related and administrative tasks, including patient screening, processing referrals, data entry, filing, managing appointments and practitioner calendars, payments and billing;
  • General operational tasks, including maintaining centre cleanliness and presentation, opening or closing the centre, event and room set-up, stocktake, ordering and general administrative support for team members;

Who we are looking for: 

The successful candidate must have recent work experience within a similar setting (i.e. a medical/allied health practice) and have used and be familiar with medical/clinical software packages.

Essential qualities and experience:

  • Demonstrated customer service skills, with the ability to appropriately work with and provide information to clients (young people), their carers/parents and members of the public, from a diverse range of cultural and socio-economic backgrounds;
  • Demonstrated administrative skills, with the ability to problem solve, manage priorities and complete tasks in an efficient manner with minimal supervision in a busy environment;
  • A high level of attention to detail, and the ability to manage client confidentiality and privacy;
  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well within a team; and
  • Strong computer skills, including the ability to confidently use Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, with the capacity to quickly become proficient in the use of site-specific software packages.
