Mental Health Practitioner

A leading community managed specialist mental health service provider has opportunities for several Mental Health Practitioners.  The organisation has been supporting people dealing with the day-to-day impacts of mental illness, as well as their families, friends and carers for over 40 years. They offer a comprehensive range of community and residential services, as well as participating in education, research and advocacy and community development.

The Role
The primary purpose of the Mental Health Practitioner is to provide recovery focused mental health services to people who may benefit from the wide range of services offered by the organisation. These services include group education, mentoring, coaching, education and vocational support, housing and linkage services, counselling and NDIS planning and access supports.

Key Selection Criteria
We are seeking Mental Health Practitioners to deliver a high level of support to customers and assist them meet daily living needs as well as attain better economic participation in the community.  Experience in coaching methodology, briefing interventions, family work, housing and employment and education would be highly desirable.

You will need a minimum qualification Certificate IV in Mental Health. Tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work or Occupational Therapy.  A current drivers license, a National Police Record Check, current working with Children Check (Employee) and not listed on the Disability Worker Exclusion Scheme list are a must.
