Community Mental Health Clinician

RPN3; SW2; OT2; P2

Part-Time, 4 days per week

The Outer Community Team at MidWest Area Mental Health Service are a welcoming and supportive diverse group of multi-disciplinary clinicians who value the specific contributions of nurses to the treatment of our consumers with often challenging and complex mental health presentations.  We will provide the opportunity to work in an integrated community model of care that offers you flexible work hours over 7 days a week with a combination of acute / brief interventions and ongoing / longer term clinical care depending on your individual areas of experience and interest.

 

A job to be proud of

  • Assess and provide interventions to consumers with various psychiatric illnesses
  • Coordinate medical, psychosocial and legal aspects of care delivery
  • Engage with consumers, their family members and other service providers
  • Develop and deliver evidence based practice and appropriate treatment options
  • Work in collaboration with your multi-disciplinary mental health team
  • Initially based in Sunshine with a scheduled relocation to the new purpose built Melton Health and Community Service precinct September 2018

Your contribution

  • Experienced working within a team environment and with a range of consumers from varied cultural backgrounds and psychiatric presentations
  • Knowledgeable in the relevant evidence based treatment models and interventions for high and low prevalence psychiatric illnesses 
  • Skilled in engaging consumers and family members, developing rapport and forming partnerships with other community services.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in verbal and written form.
