Southbank Family Medical Centre is currently seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated and passionate Registered Nurse or Enrolled Nurse to join our team.
We offer a unique and challenging position. This multifaceted position requires the ability to prioritize and the skill to work within a strong interpersonal and multidisciplinary team. Excellent organisation,commitment to delivering high primary health care and reliability to maintain best practice care is imperative to Southbank Family Medical Centre's standards. An interest in Skin Cancer is desirable for this role as the GP Clinic also acts as a skin cancer clinic 2 days per week.
This is a permanent full-time position, therefore we are seeking someone who has the capacity to work Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Triaging our patients and prioritising emergency situations.
- Assisting GP with procedures including excision of lesions, plastering and assessments.
- Wound dressings and removal of sutures.
- Performing ECGs and other tests such as spirometry and audiograms.
- Venepuncture.
- Immunisations.
- Health assessments.
- Preparation and review of care plans.
- Assisting the GP with the management of the annual diabetes and asthma cycles of care.
- Effective management of patient reminder systems.
- Coordination, management and maintenance of patient clinical data.
- Monitoring of patient clinical outcomes.
- Daily co-ordination of the treatment room: stock control, sterilization, general maintenance and care of medical instruments, and equipment.
Essential Criteria
- Current AHPRA Registration
- minimum 12 months GP experience
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
- Phlebotomy, immunisation and wound care competencies desirable
- Competent computer skills
- Knowledge & experience using the Best Practice PMS System is desirable but not required.
- Previous care plan/health assessment experience desirable.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritise.
- Well-presented.
