St Luke's Hospital is a 58 bed acute medical and surgical, not-for-profit private Hospital which consists of four operating theatres, day surgery unit (14 beds), rehabilitation unit (22 beds), a medical/surgical ward (16 beds) and a sleep centre (6 beds). St Luke’s Care’s major specialties are orthopaedics, hand surgery, ENT, plastics, gynaecology, paediatrics, and general surgery.

 

We are currently seeking a full-time Nursing Unit Manager to lead our surgical and rehabilitation wards, Monday – Friday (primarily day shifts). The role would suit a nurse with excellent demonstrable clinical skills, who has NUM or ‘acting NUM’ experience and a passion for people. This Nursing Unit Manager position is well supported by other positions such as the Nurse Educator, Infection Prevention and Control and the Quality and Risk Nurse Manager.

 

The successful candidate will possess the following attributes:

  • Excellent clinical and people skills;
  • A positive and helpful attitude;
  • Current unconditional registration with AHPRA;
  • Leadership and communication skills;
  • Highly developed analytical and problem solving skills;
  • Ability to maintain and enhance relationships with patients, doctors, colleagues and visitors;
  • Ability to remain calm in challenging situations and handle all matters in a professional and confidential manner.
