What you'll be doing

The Business Analyst is responsible for complex analysis and interpretation of data to evaluate performance of divisions and / or projects within Northern Sydney Local Health District (NSLHD).
 
The incumbent will be expected to work with district, facility &service level stakeholders to develop useful performance data at system, divisional, service &facility levels. They will work with Project Managers and senior Executive Managers within NSLHD to provide sophisticated technical and strategic advice on activity and performance trends in order to support planning and development.
 
The Business Analyst is accountable for the provision of high level and strategic advice and analyses and the achievement of work priorities. The position holder is expected to operate with minimal supervision, demonstrating leadership and sound judgment in managing allocated portfolios.


Employees must abide by the NSW Health Code of Conduct. Criminal record checks will be undertaken on successful applicants and applicants for positions designated as Category A will be required to obtain required vaccinations prior to commencing employment. 

 

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
  • Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Statistics or a major in data analytics and/or extensive experience and a record of achievement in performance analysis and reporting in a large diverse organisation.
  • Demonstrated superior analytical skills within a complex service delivery environment including the ability to analyse and interpret complex information from numerous sources, mine large scale data collections, prepare written reports and presentations, deal with challenges creatively, develop new approaches to processes, and achieve business focused solutions.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the design, development and production of performance indicators including trend analysis and performance dashboard reporting.
  • Demonstrated capacity to maintain data integrity and ensure the confidentiality of individual records in accordance with legislative requirements.
  • Excellent organisational skills and experience working in a high volume and demanding professional environment with a capacity to prioritise, multi-task, achieve business goals and always work with a customer focused approach.
  • Well-developed communication, interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills. Demonstrated experience in working to routine deadlines and / or working within a project environment.
