A newly created opportunity has arisen to appoint an Associate Sales Specialist - Energy to join our Surgical Sales team based in Melbourne.

Reporting to the Sales Manager, this role will assist to increase the effectiveness of the Energy team supporting the delivery of any allocated support programs, deployed at all times with a high level of customer focus.

This role will see you provide regular reporting and updates on market related activities on competition/competitor representative activity, Grant Funding / market opportunities and education opportunities. In addition, you will support the Sales Specialist with:

  • Arranging appointments to meet with the key decision makers;
  • Support the weekly plans and marketing promotions;
  • Work closely with the Sales Specialist, Product Manager and Medical Sales Manager to maximize any opportunities which may be present in the market and to co-ordinate marketing effort with sales effort to achieve the best possible result;
  • Liaise with Loan and Demo Equipment Controller or Marketing Assistant to arrange products in advance of any demonstration; and
  • Maintain accurate customer and prospect records, call planning and other territory planning as directed by Sales Specialist using our Sales Management Tool.

Product training will be provided by Olympus, however an understanding of the theatre environment is highly desirable.

  • Ideally having experience within nursing and / or medical devices would be an advantage, particularly if you’ve had exposure to in-theatre procedures or surgeons;
  • Tertiary qualifications within a Business, Marketing, Science, Nursing or Health Sciences will be advantageous;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with the ability to liaise and build relationships with customers and company stakeholders, especially the ability to present and deliver product and clinical information to a range of stakeholders including nurses, technicians and surgeons;
  • Enjoy working towards KPIs and targets at a swift pace;
  • Ability to negotiate at all levels with a genuine desire to deliver service-excellence at all times; and
  • Your high level of initiative and self-motivation coupled with an ability to take the lead and make decisions will enable you to shine in this role.
