A leading health professional body is seeking a highly experienced Advocacy Manager to join their team. 

The Manager – Advocacy is a full time position and will report to the General Manager – Policy & Advocacy. The position is responsible for the development and implementation of advocacy plans that support the strategic intent of Policy and Advocacy across the organisation. The role will work in collaboration with the Manager – Strategic Policy to translate key policy positions and documents into advocacy documents ensuring consistency of message and alignment with strategic goals.

Duties

• Supporting the Organisation's Government Engagement at both a state and federal level, preparing briefs and submissions
• Supporting the Organisation's Stakeholder Engagement by maintaining contact with health stakeholders and facilitating collaboration
• Supporting the Organisation's Media Engagement, working with the Organisation's Press Office on media and public relations projects
• Helping to build advocacy capability within the organisation

Requirements

• Possess a relevant Tertiary qualification and have a sound experience working in Australia’s health system
• Knowledge of Regulatory Systems for Medicines
• Previous Government experience
• Demonstrated experience in developing and executing advocacy plans to achieve strategic outcomes
• High level written communication and analytical skills including the ability to rapidly synthesise information into concise reports and briefings
• Previous experience working in a similar role
