The Opportunity

The Health Concierge Team is dedicated to providing personalised Health Assurance to Medibank members with specific conditions, health needs or who are undergoing specific hospital procedures.  This is done by providing emotional, practical and customer support, to concierge members for voluntary entry into a range of health programs. Due to program expansion, we have multiple positions available for clinical or allied health professionals to be the face of Health Concierge. 

As a Specialist Health Concierge Officer (SHCO) your role is to connect with Medibank members and support them through their hospital journey and ongoing health, by offering them support and linking them to support services and resources available to them. You advise members make informed decisions about their health, supporting them to improve their health outcomes.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting people become aware of their own health and navigate the health system and make informed decisions;
  • Being the reassuring voice on the end of the phone, checking in on members and offering support for them when and where they need it;
  • Making members feel safe, supported and provide a friendly, customised experience with Medibank.

Please note this role is a non-clinical support service.

About You

This role will suit an APHRA or similarly registered clinical or allied health professional who genuinely cares about the health outcomes and the wellbeing of others and is passionate about customer service. You understand that the work you do has real impact on people’s lives so you utilise a thorough approach and follow things through. You present as a positive, enthusiastic and adaptable personality with high attention to detail and a highly organised and focused mindset.

Previous telephone based experience, applying active listening skills in a customer service role will set you up for success. As will an adaptable communication style which allows you to empathise when dealing with vulnerable customers and build trust based relationships with people at all levels.
