An exciting opportunity exists for a dual qualified Registered Nurse / Registered Midwife to join the Emergency Department team at Mercy Hospital for Women, a Specialist Tertiary-level Women’s Public Hospital.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
Join our motivated and caring team in our busy Emergency Department, where you will provide care for women who present with problems occurring in early pregnancy, and the antenatal and postnatal periods. We also care for women with acute gynaecological problems and neonates up to 2 weeks old. Deliver high quality, best-practice patient care as a pivotal member of the multidisciplinary hospital team
- Permanent position (EFT negotiable)
- Rotational shift-working roster
- Located at Mercy Hospital for Women in Heidelberg
ABOUT YOU:
- Current Nursing and Midwifery Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Over four years’ experience as a Registered Midwife, recent knowledge of all areas of midwifery practice
- Well-developed communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills, and the ability to prioritise care according to clinical urgency
- A commitment to clinical excellence and continuous quality improvement in accordance with the National Standards for Health Care
- Willingness and ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team and be able to build good working relationships to foster a collaborative approach to care
- Emergency, Critical care and Gynaecological experience and relevant qualifications in these areas desirable
- Flexibility as occasional work in other areas of maternity services may be required

Mercy Hospital for Women is a fully accredited Level 6 Public Specialist Teaching Hospital providing both public and private patient care through maternity services, neonatology and paediatrics, perioperative services, gynaecology, women’s health and associated health, support and diagnostic services. We are a major teaching hospital and specialist referral centre with the medical, nursing, midwifery and allied health expertise to treat the most complex obstetric, neonatal and gynaecological cases.
