Detail information about job Psychologist (child & adolescent). Terms and conditions vacancy

Psychologists needed: Brisbane, Ipswich, Springfield (2 positions)

We want the best so here's what we offer

  • Family friendly and flexible working conditions
  • Full time or part time available
  • Professional work environment with strong admin support
  • Peer mentoring for early career psychologists
  • Monthly peer supervision
  • Opportunity to work with a diverse client base

About us

childpsych is one of Brisbane's largest child psychology practices delivering interventions for children up to age 18 for the last 12 years. With consultation rooms in Sherwood, Springfield, Ipswich and Toowoomba we deliver psychological services to the general community, the child protection sector, and schools.

Our work environment

childpsych is a characterised by high professional standards. However, we do offer flexible working  arrangements where possible to suit family responsibilities. With all this "professionalism" comes a fun staff, peer supervision, strong admin support and resources (4 IQ tests for example) to allow you to do your job properly. We don't see clients during 12-1pm so we can all connect/debrief/cry/laugh etc You will be challenged in this position as you work with a range of childhood disorders.

Remuneration

Wages are competitive with the government and private practice sectors. You will be employed as an "employee" and not a contractor. You can be paid on a billable hours rate or salary depending on what you are comfortable with. We don't rent you rooms, ask you to answer the phone, or require you promote the practice - just turn up to work and do what you do best!

The ideal applicant

The ideal applicant will be able to:

  • build rapport with children and families and have an open minded and approachable personality
  • use an integrative approach to therapy including play-based therapy but also understand Evidence-based practices and interventions
  • able to work with a variety of childhood problems including children with autism and children in care
  • conduct assessments for AD/HD, Autism, learning disorders etc

We consider the following highly desirable but not a "deal breaker":

  • At least 12 months post full registration experience
  • Whilst the position is predominately in Sherwood, the ability to consult in our Springfield and/or Ipswich rooms would be valued (don't worry you're not alone and will be with another childpsych psychologist)
  • If you are a graduate or early career psychologist (ie, less than 5 years experience) then perhaps look at our Graduate Program (http://www.childpsych.net.au/graduate-program.php)

If this sounds like you then email a detailed Resume and a Cover Letter to: Philip Gosschalk ([email protected]) by COB 26 July 2018.
