About the role

The Deputy Director of Care sits on the leadership team and is required to provide support and assistance to the Facility Manager in regard to Clinical Governance; monitoring of clinical indicators; and Continuous Quality Improvement initiatives/strategies in all aspects of the delivery of care, education and staff development.

 

The Deputy Director of Care will ensure the provision of quality care, effective and efficient utilisation of staff and financial resources inclusive of assisting the General Manager with budgeting and workforce planning, and compliance with all legislative requirements.

The role has a strong focus on the clinical governance framework and providing excellence in care.

 

What you bring  

  • Registered Nurse with current Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (mandatory) 
  • Experience in managing the provision of quality clinical care in a highly regulated environment.
  • Experience in coordinating in a flexible, multi-skilled team environment with advanced interpersonal, communication, relationship building, stakeholder management, change management and customer service skills.
  • Proven ability to prioritise workloads, organise resources, control progress and lead others.
  • Capacity to take initiative and to be innovative with a demonstrated commitment to a leadership role in a person-centred approach to caring for the older person.
  • Robust knowledge of legislation pertaining to/encompassing Residential Aged Care, particularly knowledge of the Aged Care & Accreditation Standards & ACFI claiming.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of accreditation requirements and a commitment to and understanding of the processes of Continuous Quality Improvement, including audits and data collation.
  • Acknowledgement, understanding and commitment to the principles and practices of risk management and the relevant Australian standards and codes of practice.
