The NDIA has worked with leading early childhood intervention practitioners and researchers to design a nationally consistent early childhood early intervention (ECEI) approach. The approach is designed to deliver the type and level of early intervention support each child needs to achieve best outcomes. Cerebral Palsy Alliance has partnered with the NDIA to deliver the ECEI approach across the Northern Sydney region.

As the identified ECEI partner in the region CPA will provide services to support early childhood early intervention activities that will improve independence and social participation of children with disability or developmental delay aged 0-6.

 

About the role

The ECEI Team Leader is responsible for managing a team of Allied Health professionals in identifying the type and level of early intervention support required to enable children with a developmental delay or disability aged 0-6 to achieve agreed outcomes. The Team Leader works with the ECEI Partners Program Manager to successfully deliver of CPA’s ECEI partner agreement with the National Disability Insurance Agency’s (NDIA) across the Northern Sydney region and managing the provision of information and referrals to a range of disability, community, health and education services, short-term intervention supports and assistance in initial and ongoing access to NDIS funding (as applicable).

Other responsibilities include:

  • Manage the implementation and delivery of best practice assessment, planning and referral services to ensure great client outcomes are achieved
  • Implement project intiatives and action plans to ensure the achievement of project outcomes within agreed timelines
  • Implement local marketing initiatives to promote ECEI program and to source client referrals
  • Monitor team performance to identify opportunities for improvement and to make recommendations to continously improve the daily operation of the program
  • Prepare and submit reports to inform the NDIA on progress against agreed deliverables and to comply with funding agreement requirements
  • Manage the attraction, recruitment, development and retention of a high performing team
  • Assist and guide the team in managing client and family expectations in line with NDIA guidelines 
  • Manage, resolve or escalate customer complaints
  • Analyse and monitor team’s capabilities to ensure resources are skilled and responsive to client demand.

This position is a 3 year contract role.

Positions are based at Ryde or Allambie Heights but the role will see you travelling across Northern Sydney on occasion to meet the clients and their families.

About You

  • Understanding of the rights of people with a disability
  • Relevant qualifications in allied health, social science or early childhood education and preferably management qualification e.g. Cert IV Frontline management
  • Proven experience working within the principles of best practice in early childhood
  • Demonstrated understanding of the NDIS, in particular the ECEI approach
  • Highly developed written and verbal communicatin skills
  • Understanding and proficiency in using databases and Microsoft office
  • Demonstrated negotiation and influencing skills and a developed approach to networking and building relationships
  • Current unrestricted NSW Driver's License (Reasonable adjustments will be made where applicable)
  • Willingness to obtain a WWCC prior to commencement
  • Project management skills (desirable)
