You will be passionate about inpatient Mental Health displaying abilities in focused patient care, alongside a high level of understanding of procedures and processes. Your prior experience will include both strategic and operational elements enabling you to manage and lead an inpatient Mental Health unit to embrace change whilst providing a high quality of patient care. In this position you will also be responsible for implementing the direction of the ward with the currently focus being a strong inclusion of family, carers and consumers in treatment plans and progress goals.
 
The twenty bed unit is an acute, adult ward featuring six observation beds and fourteen general beds. Shift rotation will be required for eight hour day and afternoon shifts, and a ten hour night shift. The team includes a CNE with a focus on supporting new graduates, registered nurses, social workers, occupational therapist, psychologists, registrars and Junior Medical Officers. Being co-located with the community Mental Health team allows for highly effective handovers, an opportunity for skills growth and a comprehensive network of services offered.
 
Taree is nestled in the Manning Valley, a three and half hour drive from Sydney, situated on the Manning River. The river is largely responsible for the recreational activities including fishing, rowing, sailing and power boating as well as a basis for industry with the area being a large producer of oysters. With a population of 20,000 Taree is a popular tourist destination for people that want to get away from it all and enjoy a slower pace of life in beautiful surroundings. The availability of affordable and luxury housing present an entire package for those wishing to relocate to the Lower Mid North Coast.
