The Organisation
Our customer is a not-for-profit organisation that provides a wide suite of services across the great Sydney, Illawarra, Macarthur, Shoalhaven and Southern Highlands regions. Services include aging and disability programs, foster care, counselling, family support workshops and children’s contact services.
The Role
On behalf of our customer we are seeking a Registered Nurse for their Wollongong location. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with extensive community nursing experience as the key focus of the role is to provide training and guidance to the Direct Care Workers alongside clinical requirements of the role.
This is a permanent full time role located from the Wollongong office with travel in the local region.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high quality nursing assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in collaboration with patients, carers and key stakeholders
- Participate in quality improvement activities using best practice principals
- Educate employees and program participants to take ownership for their own health, focussing on social, physical, cultural and environmental aspects
- Report identified risk to the Executive Manager
- Promote team performance and implements appropriate solutions or strategies for improvement
- Develop responsive strategies to enable participants to adapt their changing health needs
- Implement planned nursing care to achieve identified outcomes for patients and their carers
- Provides support, direction and education to Direct Care Workers regarding the promotion of health status improvement of participants
- Delivers person centred support to enable clients and their families to have control over their care plans and goals within them
- Manage comprehensive for participants in accordance with relevant work policy and contractual requirements
- Provide a clinical component providing nursing support
- Assist community support workers with compulsory module training
To Be Successful
- AHPRA registration with no restrictions essential
- Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, delivery and review health and client plans
- Demonstrated skills educating and training individuals of best clinical standards within a community setting
- Sound knowledge of policies and procedural guidelines that have legal implications for practice
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in aged care funding agreements that underpin the coaching, mentoring and education provided to direct care workers
- Demonstrated experience fulfilling duty of care of nursing practices
- Clinical experience or aptitude to support clients with complex needs
- Current NSW Driver Licence and access to a reliable car
- Current police check or ability to obtain
- Current Working With Children’s Check or ability to obtain
- Ability to work flexible hours including some evenings and weekends if required
Salary and Benefits
Salary is $52,000 - $57,000 p.a depending upon experience plus super and salary sacrifice
