Purpose of Position
War Memorial Hospital (WMH) is a 3rd Schedule Aged Rehabilitation hospital, situated in Waverley, owned and operated by Uniting and part of the South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD). Services are comprised of 24 hour inpatient care, Monday to Friday outpatient departments, several specialist community teams inclusive of Transitional Aged Care, Aged Care Assessment Team, Geriatric Flying Squad, Young Onset Dementia, 7 day a week day centre, 24 hour accommodation service for regional guests and the full range of hospital support services. It is set within beautiful tranquil grounds and is a well-supported team environment.
An opportunity has become available for an Allied Health Assistant to join the Occupational Therapy Department at War Memorial Hospital, Waverley, which specialises in aged care and rehabilitation.
This position will primarily provide assistance to the allied health clinicians and be involved in the management of the Equipment Loan Pool. Other duties include assisting with individual and group programs, patient mobility as well as general administrative duties within the department.
This part time (Thursday and Friday) position is available up until August 2019.

Selection Criteria
1. Certificate III/IV in Allied Health Assistance or willingness to work towards same. 2.Experience working with older people in a health care environment and an awareness of the range and use of assistive equipment in a health care setting. 3. Proven excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. 4. Demonstrated ability to be self directed and work with minimum supervision, to organise work priorities and manage time effectively. 5. Demonstrated computer literacy including ability to use the MS Office suite of programs. 6. Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team environment. 7. Knowledge and understanding of Work Health Safety Act & Regulations 2011 and WHS principles. 8. Current NSW Drivers’ Licence Class C.
