About the business and the role

Chatswood Private Hospital (CPH) is Sydney's only dedicated private hospital for specialist surgical procedures of the eye, ear, nose and throat. We have six operating theatres, and one laser procedure room. We are predominantly a day surgery, and also provide four overnight beds. The hospital is a centre of excellence for Ophthalmic, ENT and Dental surgery, operating room technologies and the day hospital environment

Due to an increase in our services, we are looking for Sterilization Services Technician to join our team on a permanent part time basis.

Job tasks and responsibilities

Responsibilities:

• Effectively manage the sterilization function in conjunction with the Clinical Manager (CM) /Director Of Nursing (DoN) or delegate in charge
• Manage and report maintenance of instrumentation and equipment within SSD
• Manage peri-operative instrumentation in conjunction with the peri-operative coordinator / CM /DON
• Manage stock control and ordering of SSD supplies
• Ensure a safe work environment, including maintenance of infection control and manual handling requirements
• Ensure facility ordering, putting away stock and housekeeping duties are competed in agreement with the CM /DON or delegate
• Rostering of staff and assignment of daily duties to ensure designated SSD functions are completed

Skills and experience

Essential

• Certificate III in Sterilisation Services and relevant hospital experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Flexibility with rostering
• A team player
