Casey Hospital is a 229 bed hospital providing a comprehensive range of health services for the rapidly growing communities of Melbourne's outer-east.

With an expansion currently underway, the hospital will increase its services to include an Intensive Care Unit, and include additional theatres and inpatient beds.

The current services at Casey include an Emergency Department, General Medical, Mental Health, Maternity, Rehabilitation, Surgical and Ambulatory care services. The hospital is a provider of paediatric services for Monash Children's and is a centre for the leading cardiac services of Monash HEART.

About Ward E Casey Hospital

Ward E is currently a 25 bed Adult Acute inpatient unit that sits within the Adult Bed Based Service under the Mental Health Program.  The Unit provides short term inpatient management and treatment during an acute phase of mental illness.  Consumers remain in the unit until they have recovered to the point where they can be treated effectively and safety in the community. Our work is supported by a specialised multidisciplinary team, comprehensive community mental health services (including Mental Health Hospital in the Home) and welfare support services which collaboratively, provide a range of therapeutic interventions and programs available to consumers and their families to learn more about the impact of the illness, explore ways to better manage the illness, improve coping strategies and move towards recovery.

About the Job

  • The Associate Nurse Manager (ANM) position is a clinical leadership role responsible for clinical outcomes and management of staff as directed by the Nurse Manager (NM). 
  • The position includes working to a rotating roster which includes Night Duty and Weekends 
  • The ANM leadership team actively supports and assist the NM to ensure a high standard of service provision clinically and operationally within the program. They are committed to team work, respect and collaboration in providing excellent and accountable high quality care and service delivery for all patients and their families/carers.
  • ANM’s support, supervise, mentor and coach the mental health RNs and ENs, in delivering support to patients and families during crisis and transition periods of their mental illness, considering a persons, physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs.
  • The ANM is responsive and flexible in coordinating and delivering care.

You Will:

  • Have a current AHPRA registration
  • Have a Post Graduate Diploma in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing or completion of a specialist undergraduate psychiatric nursing program or specialist post basic course of training which previously led to registration as a Division 3 Nurse
  • Ideally have previous Leadership experience 
  • Proven Mental Health experience – minimum of 4 Years
  • Relevant Working Visa
