An excellent opportunity exists for an enthusiastic Grade 2 Occupational Therapist with sound clinical skills and a commitment to quality and patient centred care to join the Northern Health Occupational Therapy team. The successful applicant will have had previous experience working in a subacute setting, preferably within aged care/dementia.
This role involves the provision of evidence based Occupational Therapy services to subacute inpatients. The Grade 2 Occupational Therapist will be accountable for providing efficient patient care through the application of competent clinical skills in assessment, intervention, discharge planning, and management of a varied inpatient caseload. You will have a leading role in ensuring excellence in patient care, and drive quality improvement and service development. Education and supervision of staff and students is an integral part of this role.
Highly organised and flexible, you are comfortable working in fast paced environment and are able to present complex information in a concise, understandable format. Crucially, you are a team player and an excellent communicator who is comfortable engaging productively with staff at all levels.
The role is currently based at Bundoora Extended Care Centre, however, staff may be required to travel and work at other sites, as required.
To be successful in this role your key accountabilities will be to:
- Provide quality, evidence based occupational therapy service to patients in the subacute setting
- Maintain a high standard of professional behaviour
- Demonstrate an ability to work autonomously and co-operatively within the Multidisciplinary team
- Demonstrate an ability to provide supervision and leadership
- Possess strong organisational, prioritisation and interpersonal skills
