About the Role
An opportunity currently exists for a Grade 2 Orthotist to join the Prosthetic and Orthotic Team and Young Adult Complex Disability Clinic on a fixed term basis until April 2019 (parental leave backfill). This position is for 4 days per week.
As a Grade 2 Prosthetist/Orthotist you will be responsible for providing evidence-based, best practice orthotic and service provision to clients across acute, subacute, outpatient and community rehabilitation services.
The role requires a large degree of flexibility, and you may be required to work at both the Fitzroy and Kew campuses.
Duties
Prosthetic and Orthotic Department
To provide evidence-based best practice orthotic service provision to clients within the inpatient and outpatient services of St Vincent’s Hospital, with a focus on the rehabilitation and geriatric inpatient units.
Young Adult Complex Disability Clinic
To work within a flexible, multidisciplinary structure, that ensures the delivery of high quality therapy services to all clients of the YACDS, making sure that the client’s needs are met and they receive ‘the right treatment in the right place at the right time’. Clinicians are required to provide assessment and management of clients in a number of settings across the continuum of care within Health Independence Programs (HIP), including client’s residence, community settings, the HIP Centres or Specialist Clinics.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Prosthetics and Orthotics (or equivalent)
- Current membership with the Australia Orthotic Prosthetic Association is mandatory
