We seek a highly motivated Clinical Psychologist to join our team delivering integrated multi-occupational rehabilitation programs to individuals following traumatic brain injury. The aim of the service is to assist clients to successfully reintegrate into the community. Therefore, this position involves working in partnership with the clients, their families, the treating team, and relevant community services to promote psychosocial recovery.

We seek a self-motivated and friendly individual with:

  • Full registration with AHPRA and preferred endorsement as a Clinical Psychologist (or engaged in a Registrar program with established supervisor)
  • Demonstrated expertise in conducting psychological assessment and treatment for clients with complex disability
  • Experience in working with people with a brain injury or other complex disabilities.  
  • Knowledge of recognised diagnostic criteria and experience in the application.
  • Knowledge of positive behavior management principals and their application supporting a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated experience in the provision of psychological therapy and the ability to adapt standardised approaches to meet the needs of clients with complex disabilities.
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing psychological reports for a professional audience, and interpreting reports for a lay audience.
  • Demonstrated competence in interpersonal communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Knowledge of services and resources to support people with a brain injury & their families.
  • Previous experience working in a multi-disciplinary team.

The successful applicant(s) will be joining an enthusiastic multidisciplinary team and will be expected to contribute to the ongoing provision of evidence-based practice. The position is temporary part time, working in a state of the art inpatient Brain Injury Unit facility with the inpatient rehab team.
