About the Role:
We are seeking a Dispensary Technician to join our team based at Westmead Rehabilitation Hospital. Reporting directly to the Pharmacy Manager, this role is working 3 hours per day. Your duties will include, but won’t be limited to:
- Dispensing and supplying medication and pharmacy products
- Maintaining excellent levels of customer service
- Assisting with retail enquiries and stock control
- Processing sales transactions and assisting with account enquiries
- Delivering medication to allocated wards and retrieving new medication orders
- Managing scripts and duplicates in an effective and efficient manner
- Ensuring patients and nursing staff receive the correct medication
- Reporting any breaches of ethics or errors
- Assisting in dispensary activities
- Processing PBS claims
- Assisting the pharmacy team with any general pharmacy administration
About You:
The person we are looking for will possess the following skills & credentials:
- Dispensary Technician Certificate or equivalent as recognised by the Pharmacy Board of Australia
- Previous Australian experience in either hospital or community pharmacy is essential
- Proficiency using Winifred & iPharmacy (preferred)
- Good working knowledge of the PBS
- Sound knowledge of S2/S3 products
- Microsoft Office (basic)
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills
- Strong customer service orientation
- The ability to prioritise workload and adapting to change in work requirements
