The role

The purpose of this position is to provide DDWMPHN and our Partners in Recovery organisation/s with assistance in the development and delivery of a range of projects that will contribute to lasting systemic change for the benefit of people with severe, complex and enduring mental health problems and their carers and families.

These are your key responsibilities:

  • Prepare project briefs and develop and implement project plans in line with intended and new project activities, to reflect PIR’s objectives.
  • Compile periodic reports on progress against planned activities. 
  • Communicate progress at program meetings and in other contexts as required. 
  • Prepare and coordinate project events and meetings.
  • Identify and develop communication strategies and resources.
  • Work collaboratively with external service providers and other stakeholders in delivering projects.  
  • Ensure all activities identified in project plans are completed to agreed timeframes and budgets.
  • Develop and strengthen local partnerships and relationships, particularly with PIR consortium members and other key stakeholders.
  • Contribute to mental health awareness and the reduction of stigma associated with mental illness, by communicating Partners in Recovery objectives and the consumer-centred recovery model to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Comply with contractual obligations and deliverables as contained in contracts.
  • Contribute towards the DDWMPHN overall strategic   direction including implementation of the organisation’s vision
  • Display an attitude and behave in a manner that is in keeping with the  organisation’s values.
  • Identify and participate in continuous quality improvement opportunities 
  • Provide a “no wrong door” service approach to enquiries which is courteous,  friendly, supportive and professional to achieve a prompt response.
  • Undertake other duties commensurate with the role as directed.  

Selection Criteria

  • A tertiary qualification in business, health, project management or strong experience in these areas.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the principles of project management. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word and Excel. 
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as work independently with minimal supervision. 
  • Ability to show initiative, determine priorities, and ensure deadlines are met while maintaining a high standard of attention to detail. 
  • A high level of communication skills, both in oral and written form, for working with internal and external bodies and individuals.
  • Customer service skills, flexibility and responsiveness.
  • Ability to gain the cooperation and assistance of mental health consumers and their carers.
  • Ability to analyse and interpret data
  • Current Drivers licence
