The Role
This role will see you working across Victoria with clients both existing and new as you are working towards ensuring customer solution sales, technical set up support and outcome satisfaction from you solutions sales all the way through to installation and after care support.
With your technical expertise, customer focus and commercial aptitude, you will assist the sales team to identify and develop new clients through exiting market opportunities. With provision of technical sales advice and qualification, application support, customer support and a range of strategic promotional activities, you will help to grow the business in your territory.
As a self-starter, you will be maintaining good relationships with key customers, potential customers and key opinion leaders in the life science community in Victoria.
Your responsibilities with include conducting technical product demonstrations to potential customers, post sales and installation training and conducting seminars, workshops, presentations and other relevant promotional activities to promote the current product portfolio for our client.
The company has 15 field sales people, two of whom will be supporting you in Victoria and will provide you with qualified leads. However, you will ultimately be responsible for mapping out your territory and ensuring adequate matrix coverage and execution.
The Candidate
Academic Qualifications:
- Master's Degree or higher in Biological Sciences, with Molecular Biology expertise preferable.
- Candidates who do not hold a postgraduate degree but hold a BSc in Molecular Biology or related discipline are also encouraged to apply
Work Experience
- 5 years of experience in sales, marketing, R&D or related function
- Demonstrated success in sales, applications support and market development
- Experience in automation, Molecular Biology or Next Generation sequencing preferable.
Key capabilities desired
- Excellent knowledge about the automation market, particularly in Australia
- Strong team player with excellent communication skills both written and verbally with the ability to articulate and transfer information from complex to simplified.
- Demonstrable ability to build relationships at all levels within the life science market and internally with their colleagues and piers
- Significant hands-on experience with key automation, microfluidics and nucleic extraction applications and systems with an aptitude to learn new systems and retain technical information
- You must have drive, ambition and enthusiasm with a can do attitude.
- An ability to demonstrate that you are a self-starter and can work with limited supervision.
- Have a Kaizen approach to your work at all times
- Ability to travel within SA when needed.
