Looking for a meaningful new role?  ACSO is looking for an AOD Intake Worker to be the first point of contact for clients entering a drug and alcohol treatment program.

ABOUT THE JOB


This role conducts telephone and walk-in intake sessions for clients wishing to access voluntary AOD services. As first point of contact to clients, in this position you will provide brief interventions, advice and arrange bridging support and contribute to the establishment of wrap around services based on clients’ identified needs.

 

This is a part time 0.6FTE (45.6 hours/fortnight), fixed term 1 year position, co-locating with a Community Health Providers office in Horsham. As part of a wider team with diverse and specialised skills and experience, you will have practical and expert advice available to support your learning and continued professional development. The salary for this position is $63K to $65K (pro rata 1.0FTE) plus 9.5% superannuation, and generous salary packaging options.

 

We’re looking for someone who will bring a passion for helping clients to the role, along with a strong belief in humanity and the basic right each of us has to a second chance. The successful candidate will be ethical, self-motivated and committed to helping others achieve their goal.

 

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • A minimum Certificate IV level qualification in AOD or a related field 
  • Prior experience in an intake and/or assessment for clients with substance abuse problems / mental health issues
  • Prior experience working with clients presenting with complex needs and at-risk behaviours
  • A strong sense of personal accountability, resilience and emotional intelligence
  • Experience working within the forensic space is desirable but not essential
  • Strong administrative skills including a good level of digital literacy
  • A valid Victorian Drivers' Licence, First Aid Certificate and the ability to obtain National Criminal Record and Working with Children checks
