Family Time Australia is a Transdisciplinary Family Centre providing high quality therapy and holistic, evidenced based programs to children experiencing developmental or behavioural challenges. We focus on a wide range of delivering activities, based on fun, to children of all abilities and ages.
Based at Payneham with easy onsite parking available, you will report directly to the Director. Our dedicated team of specialist healthcare professionals, is highly regarded and well respected within the Adelaide healthcare sector. FTA work closely with parents, carers and their families to achieve the identified goals for their children, ranging from birth to fifteen years.
We require a passionate and enthusiastic Paediatric Speech Pathologist to join our vibrant and specialised team.
Family Time Australia also provides exciting fun group programs for children and you will be an integral part of developing sensory regulation, social skills and other functional aspects of these groups to further facilitate our families to achieve their goals for their children.
Position Criteria:
- Recognised university qualifications in Speech Pathology and current membership of Speech Pathology Australia
- Experience working effectively with children with disabilities or development delays using holistic family centred approaches
- Experience working with a paediatric case-load 0–15 years preferred
- Demonstrated experience and understanding of play-based early childhood intervention practices
- Demonstrated ability to use strategies that help strengthen parent's capacity to meet the learning needs of their child
- Knowledge of some basic key word sign language
- Experience working with children with receptive and expressive language delays and disorders, speech and articulation delays and disorders, literacy difficulties, and auditory processing disorders
- Experience working with children on the Autism Spectrum
- Confident oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated organisational and time management skills
- Excellent influential, negotiation and problem solving skills
