BMDH Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Employment Type: Permanent Full Time Position Classification: Nurse Practitioner Remuneration: $118,257.51 - $126,621.74 Hours Per Week: 38 Requisition ID: REQ51248 Where you'll be working Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) is responsible for providing primary and secondary health care for people living in the Auburn, Blacktown, and The Hills Shire, Holroyd and Parramatta Local Government Areas (LGAs) and tertiary care to residents of the Greater Western Region. What you'll be doing The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is an expert nurse clinician who manages and coordinates episodes of care as the primary provider or as part of the care team. The Neonatal Nurse Practitioner scope of practice is built on the platform of the registered nurse scope of practice. The NP functions as an expert nurse clinician with extensive experience in neonatal nursing who is authorised to function autonomously and collaboratively in an advanced and extended role which is not able to be performed by a registered nurse or clinical nurse specialist. The NP provides evidenced based autonomous clinical care for neonates within approved, established guidelines for advanced nursing practice and understands their accountability and works collaboratively with other clinicians to secure the most appropriate care for each infant and family. The NP will have the required knowledge, skills and attributes and utilise latest evidence to inform practice, deliver and co-ordinate care. Essential Criteria: Vaccination Category: A Checks: National Criminal Record Check, Working with Children Check Registration: Registered as a General Nurse – Division 1 and holds a current practicing certificate authorised by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency to practice as a Nurse Practitioner. Qualifications: Minimum of five years full time equivalent post registration experience within the specialty and post graduate qualifications relevant to neonatal nursing. Selection Criteria: 1. Ability to independently assess, investigate and implement appropriate treatment of patients within advanced nursing practice guidelines. 2. Ability to implement changes and develop direction in clinical practice by the initiation, utilisation and review of evidence based research. 3. Ability to provide clinical leadership, in terms of leading practice, being responsible for leading a service and taking responsibility for the practice of others. 4. Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional and educational development of others, with a commitment to own professional development and currency of practice. 5. Demonstrated ability to work with a high degree of autonomy and accountability while also working collaboratively in a multidisciplinary and multi service environment 6. Demonstrated advanced communication and interpersonal skills across a variety of clinical settings and proven high level of self efficacy. Need more information?
