What you'll be doing Maximise midwifery contribution to clinical initiatives, including the increased use of evidence based practice in care of mothers, babies and children Promote quality and research endeavours, including increasing engagement of clinical staff in research activities and the publication of research findings in midwifery Develop Academic and Clinical partnerships that contribute to the academic development of the profession. Build research capability amongst midwives working in NNSW LHD Provide expert clinical advice and leadership to the midwifery academic team within the School of Health and Human Services(SHHS), Southern Cross University(SCU) Oversee the development of the antenatal clinics on Southern Cross University campuses Registered Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and a minimum of 7 years’ full time equivalent post registration experience and at least 5 years’ full time equivalent experience in midwifery and postgraduate qualifications (Masters level as a minimum) in midwifery or area relevant to the clinical specialty Proven research expertise especially in the area of antenatal care, including knowledge on: methodologies; research skills; literature reviews; writing skills; ethics applications and using evidence to support practice Proven clinical expertise and leadership skills in midwifery and an ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary framework demonstrating a commitment to excellence in midwifery practice Demonstrated ability to implement changes and develop direction in clinical and academic practice by the initiation, utilisation and review of evidence based research Demonstrated leadership in strategic and clinical service planning and experience and expertise in the management of organisational and cultural change Demonstrated high level advanced communication and interpersonal skills (including the use of coaching) across a variety of mediums and proven ability to write for a variety of documents and work with people from diverse backgrounds and government and non-government agencies Proven advanced skills in clinical teaching and coaching, competency in the use of contemporary information systems and evidence of the ability to direct the development of specialty education programs Proven clinical expertise in complex client- centred consultancy with the ability to work independently.
