Where you’ll be working Wollongong Hospital is the largest of Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District’s eight hospitals with 500 beds, over 63,000 emergency presentations and treats more than 48,000 patients annually. It is the region’s tertiary referral hospital and provides a comprehensive range of inpatient and community-based services including; aged care, allied health, medicine and critical care, surgical and medical services, outpatient and referral services. Wollongong is located 80km south of Sydney on a narrow coastal strip bordered by the Royal National Park to the north, Lake Illawarra to the south, the Tasman Sea to the east and the Illawarra Escarpment to the west. What you'll be doing The Enrolled Nurse is responsible for the provision of compassionate and professional nursing care to all patients. The Enrolled Nurse is the patient/client's advocate and delivers high quality nursing care to patients/ clients of the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District consistent with the LHDs policies, procedures and standards. The Enrolled Nurse works under the direct and indirect supervision of the Registered Nurse. The Enrolled Nurse retains responsibility for their personal actions whilst remaining accountable to the registered Nurse for delegated functions. Successful applicants to the role must provide certified documentation of vaccination history and pathology as part of their recruitment documentation. Effective written and verbal communication skills, including computer skills. Excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
